Museums
Mining Museum: The site which was opened in 1880 for coal production and today is used for training purposes and the studies is continuing to convert a mining museum. The mine has 1 km underground path and all other mining unities, other than coal wells.
The site is very close to the center. In addition to this museum, it is planned to have a saloon where all the information about the museum can be presented; an exhibition room, a cafeteria, a gift shop and a central heating places in the site.
Kdz.Ereğli Museum (Halil Pasha Palace): This museum serves with its stony structure consisting of a basement+3 floors. Halil Pasha Palace was built in the lately 19th century by Halil Pasha Karamahmutoğlu who was a governor of subdivision of a province during the time of the Sultan Abdülhamit II of the Otoman Empire. The palace built on old rocks of a church in Bozhane Yalı Street was decorated with ancient recruiting materials. Up till the year 1989, this palace had been used as secondary school and lycee. In 1989, the destructed palace gave to the Ministry of Culture of Turkey to restore. After the 10-year restoration effort, Halil Pasha Palace opened its doors as Kdz.Ereğli Museum.
Many archaeological figures from Helen, Roman and Byzantine times such as marble column heads are exhibited in the base flor of the museum. First floor of the museum shows the collections including Greek, Roman, Abbasi, Ottoman coins. In the second floor, elpek cloth, elpek thread, woven tools, many textile types such as handkerchief, guns, clocks, measurement tools and some hand writings are exhibited. Third floor of the museum is decoreted in Otoman style in which there are living room, guest room, daily room and bed room. In the garden of the museum, temple of Crispos, various architectural parts, columns and column heads are exhibited according to the Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Selçuklu and Otoman times.
Çanakçılar Corporation Museum: In Gökçebey district, it is located inside of Çanakçılar Ceramic Plant. In the museum, ethnographic pieces as well as archeological pieces of the region are presented.
